A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER
Christmas time is a time for reflections, remembering the reason for the season. Although attendance was still low, we started the monthly gathering with a Mass celebrated by our Spiritual Assistant, Fr. Pat Monahan, OFM Cap., and had a festive breakfast with a good selection of Christmas cookies and fruits of every kind. As is customary in the month of December, the shoeboxes collected were loaded onto the SUV, for delivery to the Apostleship of the Sea Office in Baltimore. But the main event of the day, centered on the veneration of the first-class relics of Sts. Francis and Clare. The Minister of our Fraternity gave a short talk about relics in general, then two members gave a brief background on how they acquired these relics. Each member took the time to pray silently in front of the relics as others meditated on the subject of faith.
